Got questions? We’ve got answers.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

You can expect your provider to review intake paperwork with you including informed consent, HIPPA, Privacy Practices, Releases of Information among other forms. You will spend the first session completing a diagnostic assessment with your provider where they will ask you questions in order to help inform a diagnosis and treatment plan for working together.

How long does therapy take?

A typical individual therapy session can range anywhere from 30-52 minutes. The length of the session is determined between the therapist and the client based on their treatment plan.

What’s the difference between a therapist and a counselor?

Good question! You might see different letters behind our names (i.e. LMFT or LPCC). We have different specialties, trainings, and requirements to obtain our licensure. A Marriage and Family Therapist typically is trained from more of a system lens, incorporating family systems and other systems that we live in.

How much does therapy cost?

That depends on if you are utilizing insurance or paying privately. If you are utilizing insurance the range of what you pay out of pocket can range drastically depending on your specific policy. While we charge the same rates for all services, we are contracted with insurances at varying rates. Upon your first session with a provider, your provider will go over any questions related to cost and will provide you a Good Faith Estimate if you are private pay.
